RTL Deutschland Concludes First Quarter With Strong Ratings

RTL Deutschland’s family of channels is pleased to report strong ratings in the first quarter. The channels achieved an audience share of 27.6 percent in the 14-59-year-old target group from January through March. RTL is gaining viewers and is at the top in all of the relevant target groups, expanding its lead over its private competitors.

RTL Deutschland is pleased to report a strong first quarter. With an audience share of 27.6 percent in the key target group of 14 to 59-year-old viewers, the family of channels had its best start in three years. At the same time, with 21.2 percent in this target group, RTL Deutschland has clearly expanded its lead to 6.4 percent over Pro Sieben and Sat.1.

In the first quarter, the channel RTL was the market leader in all relevant target groups and the only channel able to achieve gains across all groups compared with the previous years. In the key target group of 14-59-year-old viewers, RTL gained one percentage point year-over-year with an audience share of 10.5 percent. In the 14-49-year-old target group, RTL achieved an audience share of 11.5 percent, equaling a 3.5 percent lead over the second-best competitor. RTL recorded its highest growth of 1.8 percentage points in the young target group of 14 to 39-year-old viewers. Here, the channel clearly ranks ahead of the runner-up with 13.4 percent audience share.

Vox can also celebrate a success for the first quarter, securing second place among the private broadcasters in Germany for the first time throughout the quarter in the 14-59-year-old target group with an audience share of 6.1 percent. This also applies to the month of March, which Vox concluded with an audience share of 6.6 percent and thereby 0.5 percentage points above the previous month and 0.2 percent growth compared with March 2022.
