Arvato Cottbus Donates 1,000 Euro To Children's Association
In September Arvato in Cottbus called an innovative aid project to life. Under the motto "Dein Projekt für die Lausitz" ("Your Project for the Lausitz") the company, which runs two big service centers in Cottbus and Senftenberg, the company is seeking nonprofit initiatives that will be sponsored with 1,000 euro each. A few days ago the second donation was given to the children's association "Sallgaster Kinderlachen."
"There is barely anything more beautiful than making a small contribution to bringing a smile into the face of children," said Michael Jendges, Site Director Arvato Customer Services in Cottbus, when he alongside Kerstin Balzke, the Vice Works Council Chairwoman, presented the cheque to Bettina Gulbin, dean of the Kleine Grundschule Sallgast, and Thomas Helmholz, the chairman of the association "Sallgaster Kinderlachen." The 1,000 euro will be used for a circus project at the primary school that can now be realized thanks to the financial support.
In a circus tent, which will be set up near the school, the children will learn circus stunts under the direction of experienced artists over the course of two days; on the second evening they will show off what they’ve learned in a public performance. The campaign aims to support the primary school children to playfully develop their own skills and strengthen their self-confidence. In addition, the project has the goal to enhance the children's team spirit. Dean Bettina Gulbin is pleased: "The donation guarantees that all of the children at our primary school can participate in the circus project without being subjected to any financial burden."
With "Dein Projekt für die Lausitz" Arvato plans to return something to the region, "which accepted us with open arms in 2004," as Site Director Jendges puts it. And this is how it works: institutions, associations or nonprofit organizations from the Lausitz region that need financial support for a specific project in their region can apply to Arvato in writing for "Dein Projekt für die Lausitz." An application form can be ordered via Arvato Direct Services Cottbus GmbH, subject "Dein Projekt für die Lausitz," Am Seegraben 21, D-03051 Cottbus or via telephone at 0049-355-529 448-200. The management and works council will do a preselection in the event that they receive numerous applications. Afterwards, the Arvato employees in Cottbus will select the project that will receive the donation.
