BMG Songwriters And Partners Dominate YouTube’s Global Trending Lists

Bruno Mars contributed to “Die With A Smile” and “Apt.” – two of the year’s most-viewed music videos.

“Die With A Smile,” performed and co-written by Lady Gaga and BMG songwriter Bruno Mars, has been one of the year’s defining global hits since its release in August 2024, topping charts in many countries and earning a Grammy Award. The same is true for “Apt.,” the catchy track released in October 2024 by Korean–New Zealand K-pop singer Rosé, which also features Mars as a vocalist and co-writer. Both songs rank among the most listened-to and viewed music videos on YouTube this year and are accordingly featured in the platform’s newly released Global Trending Lists. The lists highlight creators, songs, and cultural moments that shaped the year.

BMG involved in eight out of ten songs in the U.S.

BMG songwriter Bruno Mars leads the U.S. ranking with two entries: “Die With A Smile,” his high-profile collaboration with Lady Gaga, and “Apt.,” his project with Rosé, which also reached the Top 10. Four titles from the soundtrack of the film “KPop Demon Hunters” appear as well: “Golden” and “How It’s Done” by Huntr/X at Nos. 3 and 7, and “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol” by Saja Boys at Nos. 4 and 5. These hits have played a key role in the film’s cult status and its position as the most-viewed Netflix film of all time.

Also featured on the U.S. YouTube list are the Grammy-nominated “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar & SZA, co-written by BMG songwriters Kamasi Washington and Roselilah, at No. 9, and “Tv Off,” also co-written by Washington, at No. 10.

YouTube’s Global Trending Lists are based on in-country view counts for songs released in 2025 or tracks that recorded significant year-over-year growth in official music videos, lyric videos, and art tracks. An example is “Die With A Smile,” which, although it was originally released in August 2024, saw strong gains in 2025. Lyric videos place the song’s text at the center, often with animated backgrounds or graphic effects, while art tracks are automatically generated visuals from YouTube Music that typically show a static image such as the single or album cover while the full song plays.
