Dominik Asam Joins Bertelsmann Supervisory Board

Gütersloh, November 23, 2021 – Dominik Asam, CFO and member of the Executive Committee at the aircraft manufacturer Airbus SE, has been newly appointed to the Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA with effect from January 1, 2022. This was announced by the international media, services and education company following an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.

Dominik Asam has been Chief Financial Officer at Airbus since April 2019, having previously served in this position at chip manufacturer Infineon for eight years. Airbus is currently the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, with 127,000 employees and annual revenues of around €49.9 billion.

Christoph Mohn, Chairman of the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board, said: “Dominik Asam is an outstanding manager who has ensured financial solidity and thus important room for maneuver for Airbus in a challenging time for the aviation industry. Dominik Asam studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and at the École Centrale Paris; he also holds a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD. He began his career in 1996 in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs Inc., with stations in Frankfurt, London and New York. From 2003 to 2005, Asam was Head of Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategy at Infineon Technologies. Between 2005 and 2010, he held successive positions at Siemens AG, including CEO of Siemens Financial Services, Corporate Vice President and Treasurer. From 2010, he headed Group Controlling at RWE AG before taking over the position of CFO at Infineon in 2011. After taking office as CFO of Airbus in April 2019, he successfully dedicated himself to managing the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
