Jan Altersten to Succeed Rolf Hellermann

Jan Altersten, currently President B2C Finance & Collection Nordics, will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arvato Financial Solutions as of January 1, 2021. He will succeed Rolf Hellermann, who was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Bertelsmann Executive Board by the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board the beginning of November. Jan Altersten will report to his predecessor, whose responsibilities on the Arvato board include the Arvato Financial Solutions and Arvato Systems solution groups.

Rolf Hellermann said: “I’m very pleased that Jan will succeed me at the helm of Arvato Financial Solutions. As a member of the Board and as President B2C Finance & Collection Nordics, he has given our business many important impulses in recent years; since 2016 also as globally responsible for the B2C finance activities where he focused heavily on growing our e-commerce offer through the AfterPay product. He thereby made a significant contribution to the resolute internationalization of Arvato Financial Solutions.”

Hellermann added: “I am convinced that Jan´s strong entrepreneurial skills makes him the right choice to further expand Arvato Financial Solutions’ position as a leading European provider of financial services. I wish him every success in his new role and look forward to working with him in the future.”

Jan Altersten was an independent entrepreneur both during and after his law studies at Stockholm University. In 2006 he sold his law firm, subsequently took on various management positions in the financial services sector and joined Arvato in 2013 as Chief Commercial Officer Nordics. A year later, he was appointed CEO Nordics and joined the global management board of Arvato Financial Solutions. In 2016, he was appointed President B2C Finance & Collection Nordics.

“I very much look forward to my new task and to working with the entire team. Together, we will make Arvato Financial Solutions as well as our products even more digital, international and fast-growing,” commented Altersten.

Jan Altersten was born in 1975, lives in Stockholm, is married and has three daughters.
