Joint Donation By Arvato SCS And Arvato Financial Solutions

Arvato Supply Chain Solutions and Arvato Financial Solutions are supporting local aid initiatives for refugees from Ukraine in Poland with a combined total of €150,000. Employees can also participate; a joint donations account has been set up for them.

More and more refugees from Ukraine are arriving in neighboring countries, most of them in Poland. This poses great challenges for the helpers on the ground. They are now receiving support from Arvato Supply Chain Solutions and Arvato Financial Solutions as well. The two Arvato units are supporting local aid initiatives for refugees from Ukraine in Poland with a combined total of €150,000. A joint donations account has been set up for the companies’ employees.

“Poland, which directly borders Ukraine, has already taken in 1.8 million refugees. Faced with such great need and direct concern, our Polish colleagues have responded quickly,” writes Frank Schirrmeister, CEO of Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, in an email to his staff. The colleagues in Poland set up a crisis team in a very short time to help the refugees. Arvato employees from Ukraine, many of whom have been directly affected by the war and some of whom have lost their livelihoods in their home countries, have also received help. „We want to support this impressive commitment with 100,000 euros and have already transferred the sum to a donations account set up especially for this purpose,” writes Schirrmeister.

Targeted assistance

Arvato Financial Solutions (AFS) has joined the donations campaign. “The humanitarian need is increasing by the day. We at AFS also want to help the people arriving in this region,” explains Oliver Kuhaupt, AFS Corporate Responsibility Officer, on behalf of the AFS Corporate Responsibility Council. “We can have a far greater impact for those in need if we combine our efforts,” agrees Jan Altersten, CEO of AFS. Acting on this, Arvato Financial Solutions has increased the €100,000 donated by Arvato Supply Chain Solutions by another €50,000.

Local employees at various Arvato Supply Chain Solutions sites and at the AFS site in Katowice have spontaneously launched a number of initiatives and campaigns in recent weeks. Thanks to their proximity to the events, they are organizing very targeted assistance for the people. These initiatives are to be further supported with the donation sum. The money will be managed by the Polish crisis team at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions and distributed to the following organizations in addition to the company’s own relief efforts: PAH - Polish Humanitarian Action, Polska Misja Medyczna - Polish Medical Mission and Fundacja Mały Duży Człowiek - Little Big Man Foundation. Since the question of whether and how to participate in relief efforts had also arisen several times among employees of Arvato units, a joint donation account was set up at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions. All incoming funds will be used without deductions for the work of the above-mentioned initiatives.
