The global customer experience company Majorel, a venture between Bertelsmann and the Saham Group, is expanding into Ghana, further strengthening its leading position in Africa. The new site is in the capital Accra, a city characterized by a high availability of qualified employees, good infrastructure, and a fast-growing economy, according to a Majorel statement. The site opening is expected to create several hundred new jobs locally. The main language at the Accra site is English.

Partnership with customers from the digital industry

Majorel set up the new site in close partnership with a long-standing customer in the digital industry. Their shared goal is to create jobs in Africa and other disadvantaged markets as part of a responsible global sourcing strategy (“impact sourcing”), according to Majorel. “Entering the Ghana market is an important step in expanding our capacity in Africa, and part of our ambitious growth plans,” said Majorel CEO Thomas Mackenbrock. “Going forward, we look forward to further expanding Majorel’s footprint in Ghana and our geographic reach. I warmly welcome the entire Majorel team to Accra.”

Majorel operates in more than 30 countries on five continents and employs more than 66,000 people. The company provides services to more than 400 customers worldwide, including several global tech companies. In Africa, Majorel has around 20,000 employees in Morocco, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Togo, Kenya, and now Ghana, and has a long history of actively engaging with local communities.
