MIT Press To Rely On PRH Publisher Services

Penguin Random House Publisher Services is taking over sales and distribution for MIT Press. The agreement covers the renowned academic publisher’s rich backlist as well as new titles. Every year, MIT Press publishes around 300 new titles by renowned researchers from various disciplines, as well as its own scientific journal series.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge is one of the world’s most renowned research institutions. Established in 1962, MIT Press, with offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and London, is one of the largest and most respected university presses. From July 2020, this publisher will be a client of Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS). The non-profit organization and the Penguin Random House subsidiary have now agreed a multi-year sales and distribution partnership: PRHPS will take over the sales and distribution of the entire MIT Press frontlist and backlist. It publishes around 300 new titles a year and has an outstanding catalog with authors such as Noam Chomsky, John Maeda, Vaclav Smil, and Sherry Turkle. In addition, MIT Press also publishes several series of scientific journals.
