New Blockbusters For RTL Channels And RTL+
RTL Deutschland and Warner Bros. Discovery expand their content partnership.
RTL Deutschland and Warner Bros. Discovery are expanding their long-standing content partnership. Under a new volume deal, RTL Deutschland has secured extensive rights to recent box office hits and U.S. series, as well as to the premium film and series catalog of the U.S. major studio. With Warner Bros. Discovery’s wide range of brands – including highlights from the “DC Extended Universe” – RTL Deutschland is broadening its offering on linear channels and on streaming service RTL+.

Discovery is a fantastic complement to our own strong brands. This allows us to significantly ramp up both the volume and frequency of film and series highlights for our audience – on our free-TV channels as well as on RTL+.”

‘Mickey 17,’ ‘Minecraft: The Movie,’ And ‘Superman’
The deal includes exclusive free-TV rights and co-exclusive streaming rights for cinema hits such as “Wunderschöner” by and with Karoline Herfurth, ‘Mickey 17’ from Academy Award winner Bong Joon-ho starring Robert Pattinson, the blockbuster “Minecraft: The Movie” with Jason Momoa and Jack Black, and “Superman” from James Gunn. Also part of the deal is Warner Bros.’ premium film library – including the complete “Harry Potter” franchise, all three “The Lord of the Rings” films, action highlights such as “The Matrix,” and a wide selection of DC Universe films such as the “Dark Knight” trilogy, “Wonder Woman,” “Man of Steel,” and “The Suicide Squad.”
In addition, RTL Deutschland has secured access to exclusive new U.S. series and attractive titles from the series library. Highlights such as “Der Junge muss an die frische Luft,” “Aquaman,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Young Sheldon,” and “Gilmore Girls” are already available on RTL+.
