Penguin Random House Announces Will Smith Memoir

On Nov 9, Penguin Random House will publish “Will,” the long-awaited memoir by the acclaimed musician and actor Will Smith, throughout the English-speaking world. Penguin Press is its publisher in North America, while Century is publishing “Will” in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries. The book will be released simultaneously in a total of 113 countries.

Will Smith is an accomplished actor, producer and musician, known to a worldwide audience from series and movies including “The Prince of Bel Air,” “Bad Boys” and “Men in Black.” He is  has been nominated for an Oscar twice and won four Grammys alone. Now the 52-year-old all-rounder has announced his memoirs – and Penguin Random House will be publishing the work throughout the English-speaking world: “Will” will be published November 9 in North America by Penguin Press and in the U.K. and other Commonwealth countries by Century.

Will Smith wrote the book with the help of Mark Manson, author of the multi-million copy bestseller “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.” In its announcement of the book, Penguin Random House states that “Will” “…tells the story in full of one of the most amazing rides through the worlds of music and film that anyone has ever had.”

Besides the book, Penguin Random House is also publishing an audiobook edition narrated by the author himself. “Will” will be published simultaneously in a total of 113 countries.

Will Smith celebrated the book announcement last Saturday with a community Block Party in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, where he also unveiled the book’s cover, designed by the New Orleans-based visual artist BMike. The event was also attended by 100 local Miami students. The Block Party also marked the launch of the WILL Youth Book Club, which will build a global community around the themes of Smith’s book.
