On his blog “Gates Notes”, Bill Gates has revealed the cover art and release date for his upcoming book, which Penguin Random House will publish on February 16, 2021 in several countries. It will be published by Knopf in the US, Knopf Canada in Canada, and the imprint Allen Lane in the UK. In his book “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need”, Gates lays out a wide-ranging, practical – and accessible – plan for how the world can get to zero greenhouse gas emissions in time to avoid a climate disaster. “I wrote this book because I believe that avoiding a climate disaster is one of the biggest challenges we face today. After studying the problem and investing in clean energy companies for more than a decade, I believe that we can avoid the worst possible climate change scenarios,” said Bill Gates.
He added that the world is keenly aware of the problem and is establishing ambitious goals to solve it: “What we need is a plan to meet those goals, one that grasps all the complexities of climate change and faces them head-on,” the entrepreneur continued. In his book, he tries to cut through the complexity, explaining the science in a clear way, to propose a plan for what needs to be done over the next decade.
