Random House Group Wins Employee Benefits Award

The Random House Group has been awarded a prestigious Employee Benefits award for its work-life balance strategy.

Announcing the results at the awards ceremony on Jun 7, the judges said they were impressed by Random House’s approach to helping its employees to achieve the most effective work-life pattern by creating a culture of commitment to personal wellbeing and celebrating family life.

Opportunities offered to staff include flexible working; informal working from home arrangements; on-site discounted exercise and wellness activities such as Pilates, yoga and sports massage; and adjusted working hours during the summer months. Family life is central to Random House’s benefits strategy with above-statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay; pregnancy packs for expecting parents, and childcare vouchers for children up to the age of 5.

Neil Morrison, Group HR Director, The Random House Group said: “Over the last three years we have seen significant increases in the average length of service, percentage of staff who have a flexible working arrangement and those who return to work from parental leave, ensuring that we retain many talented employees. This award is a testament to the efforts of my team and leaders across the business towards ensuring that we don’t just pay lip service to offering a healthy balance between work and home life.”
