RTL+ Expands Its Portfolio With The Addition Of Podcasts

Starting November 15, podcasts will expand the offer of the streaming service RTL+ and will be added to series, films and music. The portfolio of the podcast platform Audio Now will be integrated in the free offer of the RTL+ Musik app. The podcast offer will be expanded with the addition of numerous exclusive shows, including season two of the multi-award-winning podcast “Cui Bono” and the comedy podcast “Bratwurst & Baklava” with Bastian Bielendorfer and Özcan Cosar.

With the integration of a comprehensive podcast offer, the streaming service RTL+ will take the next step towards becoming a cross-genre entertainment platform starting November 15. The podcast portfolio of RTL Deutschland’s Audio Now will become part of the free offer of RTL+ and be available in the free offer of the RTL+ Musik app. Audio Now will thereby be successively integrated in RTL+. The podcast offers of RTL+ Musik will comprise thousands of shows at the time of the launch, including almost 200 original productions of the RTL production unit Audio Alliance, and will be clearly expanded in the coming months with more exclusive new releases.

“Next big step”

“The launch of RTL+ Musik in August was an important milestone in the development of RTL+ in becoming a comprehensive entertainment platform,” Eva Messerchmidt and Henning Nieslony, Co-Chief Streaming Officers, RTL Deutschland, said in a joint statement. “With the integration of the podcasts, we’re now taking the next big step in advancing the strong expansion of RTL+.” Christian Schalt, Managing Director Audio Alliance, and Andrea Zuska, Managing Director Audio Alliance and Program Director RTL+ Non Video, also issued a joint statement: “Podcasts are part of a fully comprehensive audio streaming offer and thus also part of RTL+. For the launch on RTL+ Musik, we expanded our podcast portfolio with shows that combine quality and creativity, and feature the diverse content preferences of our target groups. The offer of exclusive new productions and established successful shows underscores our claim to be the leading German-language podcast provider. With RTL+, we now offer creatives in the industry a partner platform with a strong reach, and RTL+ Musik users can look forward to many more new launches with top-caliber names in the coming weeks and months.”

With around 3.7 million subscribers, RTL+ is the leading German streaming service according to RTL Deutschland. RTL+ will be successively expanded in a fully comprehensive cross-media offer. Podcasts are available free of charge on RTL+ Musik.
