TV Now, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland’s streaming service, has surpassed the two-million mark for paying customers. The media group reports that it had 2,029,000 subscribers on June 30. This means that TV Now has significantly expanded its position as the leading German streaming service even faster than planned.  Contributing factors included formats that were successfully launched in the second quarter – “TV Now Originals” – such as the world’s first lesbian dating show “Princess Charming,” the docudrama “Der große Fake – Die Wirecard-Story,” and the multi-part documentary “Angela Merkel – Frau Bundeskanzlerin.” Furthermore, following the successful launch of the partnership with Deutsche Telekom last year the TV Now Premium app is now also available on Sky Q, and on Panasonic and Hisense smart TVs.

Program lineup is continuously expanded

In the current quarter, “TV Now Premium” users can look forward to the third season of the Grimme Award-winning gay dating show “Prince Charming,” which starts on August 17; the star-studded U.S. series “Dr. Death” starring Josh Jackson, Christian Slater, and Alec Baldwin (August 19); and the streaming premiere of the hit movie “Gott, du kannst ein Arsch sein” (September 5); as well as exclusive UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League matches.

Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland reports that TV Now is by far the biggest German streaming service on the market, with as many as 7.01 million users a month. It currently offers around 50,000 hours of programming across various genres, the largest programming package in the German streaming landscape. Besides numerous TV highlights from content in its own channel portfolio, TV Now offers a wide range of exclusive content – originals produced by and for TV Now in the show, reality and comedy genres, documentaries, and drama. The TV Now lineup now also features an extensive movie package, exclusive series highlights, live sports and a constantly growing Family & Kids offering. This extensive portfolio is constantly being expanded. TV Now’s offering comprises an ad-financed free offering and a paid premium range (€4.99 per month), as well as a “Premium+” range (€7.99). The TV Now Premium app is available on the following platforms: iOS, Android, HbbTV, Apple TV, Samsung TV, Panasonic TV, Hisense TV, Fire TV, Android TV, Magenta TV, and Sky Q.
