Christopher Lehmpfuhl Exhibition: “BAU X KUNST” (CONSTRUCTION X ART)
For ten years now, Berlin’s Plein Air painter Christopher Lehmpfuhl has documented events on one of the German capital’s most spectacular building sites: the Humboldt Forum on Schlossplatz opposite Bertelsmann Unter den Linden 1. In late October 2018, Bertelsmann and Berlin’s Projektgesellschaft U5 showed 37 works from this cycle at “BAU X KUNST” (Construction Meets Art) in the huge subway construction site “Unter den Linden”.
During the two "Open Construction Site Days," Bertelsmann and the U5 project company showed pictures by the Berlin-based plein air painter Christopher Lehmpfuhl at the future Unter den Linden subway station. Below you will find pictures of the set-up process, the ceremonial opening of the exhibition, and the throngs of Berliners who were equally interested in the art and the large-scale construction site itself.
“BAU X KUNST”: The Plein Air painter Christopher Lehmpfuhl has documented the construction process on Berlin’s Schlossplatz in more than a hundred expressionist oil paintings since 2008. In late October, 37 of these works were exhibited in the future Berlin underground station “Unter den Linden” on two “Open Construction Site Days.”
