Category: Project

The new RTL Group Corporate Responsibility (CR) Report 2016 once again highlights the corporate responsibility strategy and initiatives in three focus areas: press freedom, society and employees.

The RTL Group Corporate Responsibility Report 2016 is the Group’s ninth CR report. Due to the increasing importance of the topic, the CR Report is published in a bigger layout. The report is available as an insert in the RTL Group Annual Report 2016, as a separate publication, and in the fully interactive online version of the Annual Report at http://annual-report2016.rtlgroup.com  . It lists approaches and initiatives in the CR areas that RTL Group categorises as most material: press freedom, society and employees.

The CR Report also includes relevant key performance indicators for these material CR issues such as donation and aid figures, the number of subtitled, signed and audio-described programme hours as well as HR figures related to the topic of diversity. As diversity is also a key topic, the report contains interviews with two RTL Group female managers: Ursula Schmidt, EVP Audit & Compliance at RTL Group and Sangeeta Desai, COO and CEO Emerging Markets at FremantleMedia. The cover of the CR Report depicts a campaign of the French music group Kids United. The group is supported by M6 Music Label which belongs to the Groupe M6 subsidiary M6 Interactions. For each Kids United album sold, one euro goes to Unicef France.

In addition to the CR Report, the Annual Report 2016 contains chapters on ‘Our business model’, ‘Our strategy’ and ‘Our role in society’. Furthermore, the reporting of CR issues such as environmental information is complemented by the enlarged ‘Non-financial information’ chapter in the RTL Group Directors’ Report.
