Sonopress produces new installment in the “DJ-Kicks” mix series as a sustainable LP.
More and more artists are opting for the “Eco Record” format produced by Sonopress, a Bertelsmann Marketing Services company. Now the !K7 label has also chosen the Eco Record for the latest album in its renowned “DJ-Kicks” mix series. Since 1995, the label has issued this series of compilations featuring selected up-and-coming and established artists who compile and remix their tracks as they wish. Many of the releases also contain exclusive tracks. The series has become an institution of the electronic music scene.
Made from PET instead of the usual PVC, the Eco Record is an innovative and environmentally friendly alternative to classic vinyl records. Its production process saves up to 85 percent of energy compared to conventional vinyl production, without compromising on sound and product quality. The innovative product is proving very successful with the industry. After the first record was released in March 2024, production capacity was recently increased once again.
‘DJ-Kicks’ series featuring Logic1000
Australian producer Logic1000 oversaw the latest release in the “DJ-Kicks” series. Logic1000 released her debut album “Mother” last month to great acclaim from fans and the industry media alike. Commenting on his label’s decision to go with the Eco Record, !K7 Music’s Managing Director Tom Nieuweboer said: “The music industry has to face up to the responsibility of taking more sustainable paths.
