Courageous conversations, top-caliber guests, and profound topics – Pinar Atalay will launch a new talk format on the news channel NTV on October 6. As NTV announced, “Pinar Atalay” will provide time for “politically exciting, humanly moving, and socially relevant stories”. In addition, the new format aims to promote political and social discourse in Germany, provide well-founded information, and encourage reflection.

“Always fair and empathetic”

“In this highly turbulent political time, I am pleased to have more time for profound conversations with the country’s most important decision-makers and personalities,” said Pinar Atalay. “Making politics more understandable and clearer, being able to ask questions repeatedly – without losing sight of the personal aspect: this is what makes my new talk show on NTV such an exciting task.” David Whigham, Editor-in-Chief NTV, commented: “We are delighted to launch our new talk offensive at NTV with Pinar Atalay. In today’s hectic news environment, we are giving important topics and people the space they deserve. Pinar Atalay embodies everything NTV stands for: independence, journalistic quality, and clarity. With Pinar, no one can get away with political PR and superficial answers. Nevertheless, she always remains fair and empathetic, despite her tenacity and journalistic rigor.”

Pinar Atalay joined RTL Deutschland in 2021. As the company’s head female journalist, she presented “RTL Direkt” until summer 2025, and is also part of the “RTL Aktuell” team of presenters. She regularly hosts political special formats, including major election events such as the “Triell” for the 2021 federal election, and the “Quadrell” for the 2025 election. Before joining RTL, Atalay worked for ARD for many years, including as presenter of the NDR main news, the business journal “Plusminus”, and “Tagesthemen”. In 2025, she was honored with the prestigious Horizont Award for “Media Woman of the Year” for her outstanding journalistic achievements.
