“Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” has published its annual report for 2022. In the report, the foundation provides comprehensive and transparent insights into the supported children’s charity projects, the year-round activities, and key topics of the past year. Stiftung RTL has been supporting children and families in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Thanks to the enormous solidarity and trust of donors and partners, almost €30 million has been raised to date – the most for an emergency campaign than ever before in the history of Stiftung RTL, according to the colleagues in Cologne.

More than €41 million during the “Spendenmarathon”

In total, “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” sustainably promoted 269 children’s charity projects worldwide in the past year. 186 of them supported children in Germany. The working principle of “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” is the cooperation with recognized nonprofit charity organizations which provide the required expertise and experience for implementing projects on site. Wolfram Kons, Head of Charity at RTL Deutschland and CEO “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern”, writes in the foreword of the annual report: “2022 was a big challenge for us, but at the end of the year we were more than rewarded for our work. When we saw €41,107,923 and a new record amount on the donations clock in the finale of the 27th ‘RTL-Spendenmarathon’ telethon, our expectations were far exceeded. We were overwhelmed that despite inflation, rising energy costs and a difficult economic environment, the will of people to make donations was so strong. This new record amount is enormous proof of trust and a big obligation towards each and every donor. You did not leave us alone, and together we won’t leave the children alone. From the bottom of my heart, a big thank you for this.” He also expressly thanked RTL Deutschland, all of the partners and, above all, the viewers who contributed to this overwhelming result. “It is great to feel so much solidarity and support, especially at a time like this. It truly means a lot to all of us on the ‘Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern’ team. I can assure you that each and every donated euro will get to the children in need without a single cent deducted.”
