Bertelsmann Business Podcast with Penguin Random House U.S. Boss Madeline McIntosh

Episode eleven of the Bertelsmann business podcast “Creativity & Entrepreneurship” marks a premiere: the first time a conversation was conducted across two continents. Madeline McIntosh, CEO Penguin Random House U.S., was in New York, and Isabelle Körner in Cologne.

In one of the first episodes of the “Creativity & Entrepreneurship” podcast, Markus Dohle, Bertelsmann Executive Board member and CEO of Penguin Random House, talked a lot about the book deal with the Obamas and his path from Germany to the U.S. In our latest episode, Madeline McIntosh discusses the special features of the U.S. book market. McIntosh sits on Bertelsmann’s Group Management Committee and is responsible for the U.S. business at Penguin Random House. Penguin Random House is the world’s largest trade book publishing group and published Michelle Obama’s memoir in November 2018. The publication of her husband Barack’s memoir is still pending. McIntosh also tells listeners which books are on her personal must-read list.

In each 30- to 45-minute episode of the Bertelsmann “Creativity & Entrepreneurship” business podcast, top Bertelsmann Group managers talk to N-TV presenter Isabelle Körner, give exclusive insights into their working life, and describe the importance of creativity and entrepreneurship in it. The episodes are released every two weeks on Audio Now, bertelsmann.de, iTunes, and Soundcloud. The next podcast episode with Karin Schlautmann, Head of Corporate Communications at Bertelsmann, will be released on November 20, 2019.
