Pablo Isla Appointed to Bertelsmann Supervisory Board

  • Appointed by the Annual General Meeting of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA with effect from April 1, 2024
  • The Spanish entrepreneur brings additional international experience and expertise to the Supervisory Board

Gütersloh, May 8, 2023 – Pablo Isla has been newly appointed to the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board. The Annual General Meeting of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA appointed the Spanish entrepreneur to the Supervisory Board of the international media, services, and education company at its meeting today, with effect from April 1, 2024. Isla headed the family-owned company Industria de Diseño Textil S.A. (Inditex S.A.), one of the world’s largest fashion and apparel groups, for many years.

Christoph Mohn, Chairman of the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board, said: “Pablo Isla is an extremely accomplished entrepreneurial personality. Pablo Isla, Chairman of the International Advisory Board of IE University Madrid since 2022, Global Senior Advisor of General Atlantic and a member of Nestlé Board of Directors, headed Industria de Diseño Textil S.A. from 2005 to 2022, first as Chief Executive Officer, then as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 2011. From 2000 to 2005, Isla was Co-Executive Chairman of the Spanish company Altadis. He has also held prominent management positions at Banco Popular. Isla, a lawyer, began his career as a State Attorney in the Spanish government’s Ministry of Transport, Tourism and Communications.
